Q1: Is it possible to download commissions straight to Commission Manager? Q2: Can I estimate the commissions I expect to receive? Q3: Can I create custom Commission Reports? Q4: Can we do a Batch entry of commissions? Q5: If an agent owes money to the Agency and they have new policy on which they will receive and advance, will the amount owed to the Agency deduct from any advances the agent will receive? Q6: Is there a way for the system to estimate the amount of commission expected on a policy based on the rate/per life (the way more and more carriers are paying health policy commissions)?
A1: We have had this capability for more than five years. We estimate that there are several hundred agents/agencies currently using this capability. Go to the Tools menu and Select Importing. Create a new Import group (use the Carrier abbreviation plus the date) Select the Transaction Payments Import table. Refer to Chapter 14 and especially 14-10 in the August 1, 2004 manual.
A2: Commission Schedules can be found on the Commission pull down menu. After creating the schedule it is selected in the Schedule field at the policy split. You also have the option of using the Expected Commission field, at the Split, to enter the amount of expected commission. If a schedule has been entered in the Schedule field it will override (take precedence) over the Expected Commission field.
A3: Yes, using the export module (under the Tools pull down menu) which exports to an Excel file. You can then open the Excel file and add formatting if desired.
A4: You can do this now using the Batch Payments tab or if you have an electronic statement, you can use the Import module to import the statement.
A5: Yes, if you are at the 6.5.2 or higher revision.
A6: Yes. At Commission Schedules on the Commission menu create a new schedule using either the Tiered amount per life or the Amount per life schedule type and define the schedule for the Carrier (Administrator) of the policies for which you want this capability. After you have created the schedule you must go to each policy to which the schedule applies and select the schedule in the schedule field of tab 2 of the appropriate split(s). Future commission entries will now show the calculated expected commission using the schedule.
