“The Best Thing for the Inside of a person is the outside of a horse

Ever since man and horse worked together an amazing relationship began to develop. The horse is one of the most beautiful, powerful and honest creatures on this planet. To gain a relationship with such an exceptional being is not only engaging but a life-changing experience.

I have worked with various breeds of horses (Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Arabian, Mustang, Appendix, etc.) in a training capacity for over ten years. I do not use, nor do I necessarily believe, in any kind of a “sixth sense” with regard to the training of any horse. Instead, I use an approach that we, as human beings, use every day...  respect, affection and observation.

My goals in working with any horse and are as follows: 1) Create a relationship, 2) Earn his/her trust,
3) Teach them to follow my requests 4) create the bridge to a bond between you and your horse both in and out of the saddle and 5) Teach you, the owner and rider, the basic fundamentals for your future work with your horse.

My method is one used by hundreds, if not thousands, of trainers around the world. An approach using the basis of “press and release” to attain dominance and trust while creating comfort and security with a “hands-on” approach. Through a four-step process, I believe that ANY horse can learn to partner with his/her owner to create a relationship borne on trust, relaxation and security.  I see my job as facilitating that relationship.

Through my Round Pen Training Approach I will:

  • Teach your horse that you are the dominant and he/she the submissive
  • Teach your horse that you are the leader and he/she the follower
  • Relieve you and your horse of any “bad habits” and/or improper ground manners
  • Teach your horse to abide by proper “Ground Manners”
  • Desensitize your horse to all the tools and tack you will use with your horse
  • Teach you to communicate with your horse both on the ground and in the saddle via voice commands and physical yields
  • Teach your horse to follow your voice commands and physical yields both on the ground and under the saddle
  • Teach you how to use the simple techniques to assure a positive ongoing relationship with your horse
  • and more...

If you are in need of consulting, training or evaluation of your horse, please contact me today and allow me the pleasure of bringing you and your horse closer together than you ever imagined.
