A Brief History of GBS
1979 - GBS, Inc. is founded by Richard Seale, with 2 fulltime employees.
1981 - The Group Expert desktop health quotation system is released. This was the first commercially available group and individual heath quotation system.
1986 - The Agency Expert is launched (in DOS), to give agents and agencies a basic database to track their clients, prospects and policies.
1992 - The talk of a national health plan has a dramatic effect on the group health quoting industry as agents shift from group health to other lines of insurance, or leave the industry all together. Nearly all companies with a group health quotation product go out of business. GBS shifts focus from the Health Expert to the Agency Expert and survives the industry downturn.
1996 - GBS releases a Y2K-compliant Windows version of the Agency Expert. GBS solidifies it's place as the leader in Insurance Agency Management Software development.
2000 - The 32-bit version of the Agency Expert is released. GBS is able to provide the most powerful agency management tool at a fraction of the cost of its competitors.
2013 - GBS anticipates the release of the Agency Expert 7.0, developed in .Net. AE7.0 is designed to be our most robust system, unlocking the power of The Cloud with remote hosting capabilities.
